<img>

Blogging is a bit easier when compared with YouTube when it comes to the time point of view. When it comes to initial capital YouTube is a little better.

For blogging, you need at least $300+ USD initial investment, whereas for YouTube you can start with Your camera phone.

Let's find out more about these platforms.

Blogging

Blogging

Blogging requires initial Investment, as you need to spend some money on building the site and for hosting.

If you're using WordPress, you need to have some technical knowledge, as you alone need to maintain SSL certifications, and Hosting details.

Unless you're a techie and tech save you can not operate a Blog/website with WordPress.

However, the initial knowledge is not a bigger deal, as you can hire professionals, where they can set up end to end, but it is a bit costlier.

Another factor is dedication. If you love to write content or speak about things that you love, then you can go with blogging.

You can make money on multiple fronts, like Ads, Affiliate Links, and More.

YouTube

YouTube
YouTube is the easiest way to start a Video channel. You need just a Gmail id.

However, YouTube is free, you don't need to spend $1USD. But you need expensive equipment. Like a camera, and expensive software.

Camera and editing software alone costs you around $1300+ USD. But You can start for free also, right. But, there is nothing called free.

You need a lot more time just to shoot and edit, the video. Usually, the creators spend nearly half a day just to make a 10-minute video.

Now we know what is what, let's compare both "Blogging" and "YouTube".

Blogging vs YouTube?

Blogging vs YouTube?

Blogging is not all about writing stuff and YouTube is not all about Video. If you wish to write a good blog you need a strong heart and good imagination, just to write 2000+ words.

Even for a 10-Minute video, you may need to write 5 pages of script and practice twice or thrice just to make a Video.

Blogging might take 3 hours to write a good blog with good practice, whereas a small YouTube video might take the same time as writing a blog. But the experience that you get out of writing is more than speaking aloud.

There are many cases where the best and successful bloggers go after Videos and successful video producers go after blogging.

Check out this video on YouTube vs Blogging.

YouTube is the king when it comes to video content. When it comes to Quality content many would prefer Blogs, with just 500+ words.

Many people love to read, it may be a piece of paper or novel. Whereas few others love to watch the hour-long videos just to know stuff that you don't want.

In the end, it all depends on the willingness, and those nights you spend just to take 5 minutes of readable blog or video.

"If you have the content that people want, anything will work"

Many misses represent that video is the future, yeah!!! That may be true, but still today, blogs out run 3:1 when it comes to finding stuff online. So Blogging is not going away anytime sooner.

Let's find out which is better, and try to choose. Is it "Blogging" or "YouTube".

Which is Better?  What should I choose?

In One word, it's upto you. If you have initial capital but have little time, go for blogging, and if you have little to no capital, and have plenty of time try YouTubing.

1. You can  start blogging for free with Blogger.com, but in long run you may need to transision to Wordpress, where you need to spend, little more to have "Hosting" and "Site Building".

2. YouTube would work as well, if you have camara phone. But people are more demanding quality video. For that you need Quality camara, and expensive setup. It also takes hours even days to learn video editing.

Go with Blogging, if you love to Write    Or    Go with YouTube if you love to explore world and love photography.

Now you know which boat you're sailing on right. Let's find out the Pros and Cons of Both Blogging and YouTube.

Pro's and con's of Blogger and YouTube

Pro's and con's of Blogger and YouTube

Even though You and I are Human beings, there are a lot more differences between us, and you might be good at something and not good at some other things.

Just like that, there are pros and cons for both blogging and YouTube.

Let's start with blogging.

1. Blogging need initial capital, just to have a skeleton"Website"
2. Ranking takes months
3. Long term game, because it takes time to build loyal followers as well as ranking.
4. If you have the quality content, that people love, you will kill it.
5. If anyone of the blogs is viral, you can hit a jackpot.
6. Best to have a Side Hustle.
7. Do you love writing, then Blogging is the best choice
8. There are a lot more ways to make money on Blogging.
9. You have a steady stream of revenue sources from blogging.
10.You can Sell @1:15 to 25 ratios.
11. With little to no skills you can start a blog.

Now we'll explore YouTube.

1. Just need a camera phone to start a YouTube channel.
2. First 24 hours are the crucial
3. If the niche has less competition, then go for it. or If it is heavily occupied, leave it.
4. People are demanding Hi-Quality Video, So you may need very-Expensive setup.
5. Software costs more than the hardware, that you use.
6. You need to have very-very active. AKA (Twice a Week)
7. Overnight you may become an internet star.

Whatever the platform it is, at the end of the day we'll for sure look into ROI. Even though you can make more money on blogging, it is a Long term game.

Whereas YouTube is a sort-run game, you can make hundreds of dollars overnight and you may not make one dollar next month.

It all depends on how much time you're willing to spend to make it work. There are cases where people make millions on both platforms(Blogging & YouTube).

Final Thought on Blogging and YouTube

One word, it is up to you. If you love to tell stories or write content, then Blogging would be the preferred choice.

If you love to Rome around and love photography or any other outdoor things, then YouTube would be the preferred choice.

It may be Blogging or YouTube, "Consistency" decides you're fate. If you're regular and able to contribute stuff, to the masses, then you'll for sure be successful in that "Niche".

If you love to play "Safe", then try Blogging, because blogging is a long term game. On average, it takes 3 to 6 months to get ranked on the Google search results. Whereas on YouTube first 24 to 48 hours are crucial.

The reason why the first 24 hours are important is If you're unable to crack the bench make, then the other player who has more views with little no valuable content get to rank high on YouTube search results.

There is another way. If you have time, and resources, you can do both. For the content of 2000+ words, it takes 3 hours to make a blog.

Whereas for YouTube, even 10 Minutes Video can take your half-day, just to arrive at the mark. For YouTube taking video is easy, but editing itself takes a lot more time. Usually 1:10 ratio. This means for a 1-Minute video it takes 10 minutes time(If you're a pro).

In the end, it all depends on you. You alone. "How dedicated you're and How much you're willing to sacrifice for it".
